What is the difference between east Wenatchee and Wenatchee?Not much of a diffence it feels like one community we are separated by the Columbia River. How far is Chelan and what kind of community is it?Chelan is 35 miles North of Wenatchee and is more of a Resort destination in the Summer. Has a lot of Charm. How far is Leavenworth and what type of community is it?Leavenworth is 20 Miles West of Wenatchee and is a Bavarian themed town / tourism destination with lots of actives going on throughout the year. What is the average temperature in the winter? Temperatures tend to be in the 30's.On average, there are 300 sunny days per year. What type of activities do residents enjoy? All types of outdoor recreation as well as performing arts and music. What is the average income level? $55,000.00 What is the median age? In the city the population was spread out with 27.4% under the age of 18, 10.0% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 19.3% from 45 to 64, and 15.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 95.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.8 males. How many high schools are there? Two Public High schools one in East Wenatchee the other Wenatchee. One Private High School. How many days of rain do you have? 9 inches rain fall on average. Are days overcast usually? On average, there are 300 sunny days per year. What is the source of income for most of the population? Agriculture & Government jobs. What is the property tax? This one is a hard one to answer because it is different all over the county, I did call the assessor office they gave me one example of some property in the Sunnyslope area property tax would be $11.78 per thousand $.. What is the median price of home? $234,000.00 Is there rental property available if I were to build a home?Yes, numerous apartments, houses or condos. What is the average cost to build per square foot?$105 on average this depends on the quality here is a link to the building association. I have read some about vineyards and wineries but is this unusual for Wenatchee or do a number exist? There are around 30 wineries in the area at this point. They are from Moses Lake to Oroville including Wenatchee, Leavenworth area, and Chelan. And more coming all the time. Our valley is growing and there are many new developments. Do you have a significant amount of land to still sell? Yes but outside the city limits, some lots are still available within city limits but not much is for sale. How would you describe the community? Vibrant and growing, last year Wenatchee was number 1# in the nation for increased home values. Like any small town that is growing fast, you have to plan for roads and housing. Your Question was how would I describe it, I love this area so I’m biased. This is a great community to live and do business if you love the beauty of the mountains, outdoor recreation and a small town feel.
